There are millions of artists, songs, melodies, and lyrics out there, but there are few as iconic and wholesome as Surfaces. The sound of Surfaces screams “good vibes in the warm weather, watching a sunset, and making memories with your friends,”… at least that’s what I picture when I hear them.

With over 9,000,000+ monthly listeners and over 850,000+ followers on Spotify, Colin Padalecki and Forrest Frank are the Texas based duo behind the magic of Surfaces Music.

As the world shifted in countless different ways with the pandemic, new opportunities and new challenges prompted a re-evaluation of one’s daily life. Whether that be your relationship, your job, your morning routine, or your hobbies, we were given time to reflect and ask ourselves,

“how do I want to spend my time?”

Where do I want to be living?
What do I want to be doing?
How do I want to grow?

For me, music has always been a part of my time.
From sing-a-long Disney movies to Broadway musicals to viral TikTok sounds, music is the shoe to my foot. It takes me places. It keeps me grounded. It’s part of how I see myself and how I see the world — which is why I created a visual identity for Surfaces Music and their mock collaboration debut with Vogue.

The pastel hues and minimalism of Surfaces is married with the stoic energy of Vogue’s Met Gala with new takes on the fusion of the old and the new, and the sense of community that have been core to both brands since the beginning.

The Surfaces x Vogue collaboration would be a live performance by Colin & Forrest at the Met Gala with social media activations, in-person brand experiences across major cities, and custom branded merchandise.
